In a boat filled with sorrow,
Floods of tears everywhere,
Nothing can be heard but cries,
Not knowing whether we will survive,
Not knowing where we are,
Not knowing whether our loved ones are alive,
Hoping we will land,
In the land of hope,
Hoping there is no famine,
Hoping we can enter,
Hoping we won't be killed,
Hoping our hearts won't be shredded
to pieces.

Refugee Poem
My heart was broken into pieces,
Hungry like a wolf,
When I saw someone I didn't had energy to talk them,
My head was heavy like an elephant,
Trying to walk but I fell on the floor,
I broke my leg,
At the same time I broke my back,
The boat was crowded like packed sardines in a can,
There were no one that could help me.
No one wanted us.
We drift aimlessly at sea.

Hopeless Bird
My heart was beating loud and fast
My face was being plastered with dirt
My hands were stuck to the floor like a pile of bricks
Legs flailing like a hopeless bird
My freedom was locked up in a prison cell
My life was hanging at the edge of a cliff
My boat drifted hopelessly across the ocean like
My face was being plastered with dirt
My hands were stuck to the floor like a pile of bricks
Legs flailing like a hopeless bird
My freedom was locked up in a prison cell
My life was hanging at the edge of a cliff
My boat drifted hopelessly across the ocean like
a boat without a captain.
